Westside Elementary School Building Project – Mel McKern Notice was provided that a hearing would be held at the Sioux City Community School District’s School Board meeting on the 27th day of February, 2012, at 6:00 p.m. local time, for the purpose to approve the plans, specifications, and estimated cost of $1,950,000, for phase one (site work), $400,000 for phase two (well), and $12,600,000 for phase three (building construction) for a total estimated cost of $14,950,000 for the Westside Elementary School Building Project. Any interested party may appear and file objections and any information for or against same will be heard on the above-named project with the final decision of the Board of Education a matter of record. RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of Directors approves the bid letting for the Westside Elementary School Building Project. B. Roof Repairs, Maintenance, and Replacement Project – Mel McKern Notice was provided that a hearing would be held at the Sioux City Community School District’s School Board meeting on the 27th day of February, 2012, at 6:00 p.m. local time, for the purpose to approve the plans, specifications, and estimated cost of $126,400 for the Harry Hopkins Center, and $86,200 for the former Hoover Middle School site for a total of $212,600 for the District Roof Repairs, Maintenance, and Replacement Project. 28E Agreement for Developmental Services / Sunken Gardens Park and Hubbard Park Environmental Surveys – Dr. Paul Gausman RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of Directors approves the 28E Agreement for Developmental Services between the City of Sioux City, Iowa and The Sioux City Community School District for the review of the Sunken Gardens Park and Hubbard Park, including soil testing and other related environmental surveys.
Asphalt Maintenance and Replacement Project – Mel McKern RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of Directors approves the proposed plans, specifications, and estimated cost of $268,343.00, for the District’s annual asphalt maintenance and replacement project, set a public hearing date, and publish notice as required by law. A public hearing will be held at 6:00 p.m. local time at the Educational Service Center, 627 4th Street, Sioux City, Iowa, on the 12th day of March, 2012.
