Westside Elementary School Building Project – Mel McKern RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of Directors approves bid package #1 low bid to DA Davis Construction of South Sioux City, Nebraska, in the amount of $1,646,902.74, bid package #2 to Midwest Geo Thermal Drilling of Indianola, Iowa, in the amount of $415,403.00, and bid package #3 to L & L Builders of Sioux City, Iowa, in the amount of $10,395,270.00, for a total project cost of $12,457,575.74.
Roof Repairs, Maintenance, and Replacement Project – Mel McKern RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of Directors accepts the bid from JC Roofing in the amount of $107,400.
Carpet and Tile Replacement and Repair Project – Mel McKern RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of Directors accepts the low base bid from Fashion Floors of Sioux City, Iowa, in the amount of $70,231.00 and accept Alternate Bid #1 in the amount of $5,681.00, for a total cost of $75,912.00.

Resolution to Approve Public Notice of Proposed Real Estate Sale (Central Campus) – Gordon Winterlin RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of Directors approves the resolution to approve public notice setting forth the time and the place of the public hearing. A public hearing will be held at 12:00 p.m. local time, at the Educational Service Center, 627 4th Street, Sioux City, Iowa, on the 16th day of April, 2012 for the purpose of selling real property with a locally known address of 1121 Jackson Street, Sioux City, Iowa.
The Sioux City Community School District’s Future Facilities Plan – Dr. Paul Gausman RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of Directors votes individually whether to remove or leave the following options on the School District’s Future Facilities Plan as possible options for an elementary school site: A. Indian Hills property located at 1400 Indian Hills Drive (Option 3) B. Building on the Bryant Elementary Block only (Option 6A) C. Building at and south of Bryant on Jones Street (Option 6B) D. Sunken Gardens / Hubbard Park(Option 8) E. Leif Erikson Park (Option 9)
Sale of District Property (1400 Indian Hills Drive) – Gordon Winterlin Notice was provided that a hearing would be held at the Sioux City Community School District’s School Board meeting on the 26th day of March, 2012, at 6:00 p.m. local time, for the purpose to receive public input on the sale of District property located at 1400 Indian Hills Drive, Sioux City, Iowa. Any interested party may appear and file objections and any information for or against same will be heard on the above-named sale with the final decision of the Board of Education a matter of record. RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of Directors passes a resolution to sell the property located at 1400 Indian Hills Drive, Sioux City, Iowa, to Real Estate Equities Homes, Sioux City, LLC, in the amount of $135,000.00.
