School Calendars for 2016-2017, 2017-2018, and 2018-2019 - Dr. Rita Vannatta Notice was provided that a hearing would be held at 6:00 p.m. local time, at the Educational Service Center, 627 4th Street, Sioux City, Iowa, on the 26th day of October, 2015, for the purpose to receive public input on the District’s proposed 2016-17 School Calendar. Any interested party may appear and file objections and any information for or against same will be heard on the above-named School Calendar with the final decision of the Board of Education a matter of record. RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of Directors approves the District’s 2016- 2017 school
Sale of District Property (Former Emerson Elementary School) - Dr. John Chalstrom Notice was provided that a hearing would be held at 6:00 p.m., local time, at the Educational Service Center, 627 4th Street, Sioux City, Iowa, on the 26th day of October, 2015, to receive public input on the sale of District property, former Emerson Elementary School, 120, 124, 130, and 117 S. Fawcett, Sioux City, Iowa, 51103. Any interested party may appear and file objections and any information for or against same will be heard on the above-named sale with the final decision of the Board of Education a matter of record. RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of Directors approves the sale of Emerson Elementary School to Bayala’s Learning Center for $50,000.
Renewal of the Instructional Support Levy (ISL) - Dr. John Chalstrom Notice was provided that a hearing would be held at 6:00 p.m., local time, at the Educational Service Center, 627 4th Street, Sioux City, Iowa on the 26th day of October, 2015, to discuss and pass a renewal of the Instructional Support Program at a rate of 10% regular program district cost for the next five years. The District will earmark up to $700,000 towards the annual purchase of curriculum materials. Any interested party may appear and file objections and any information for or against same will be heard on the above-named levy with the final decision of the Board of Education a matter of record. RECOMMENATION: That the Board of Directors pass a resolution which will renew the Sioux City Community School's participation in the Instructional Support Program.

Waiver of Appraisal and Just Compensation to the City of Sioux City - Brian Fahrenholz RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of Directors approves the Waiver of Appraisal and Just Compensation for a District-owned parcel west of Lincoln Elementary School, commonly known as 3222 Dearborn Boulevard, to the City of Sioux City for the reconstruction of the Dearborn Bridge, set a public hearing date, and publish notice as required by law. A public hearing will be held at 6:00 p.m., local time, at the Educational Service Center, 627 4th Street, Sioux City, Iowa, on the 9th of November, 2015.
Approve the Purchase and Acquisition of 3021 Jennings Street – Brian Fahrendholz RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of Directors approves the purchase and acquisition of 3021 Jennings Street, Sioux City, Iowa, currently owned by Patrick W. Herbst and Micah L. Herbst, for the purchase price of $214,500.00, plus incidental expenses, which amounts include all relocation expenses and payments required by law, all pursuant to a Purchase Agreement and a Dwelling Agreement, each dated October 22, 2015.
