A.North High School Lunchroom Expansion Project – Brian Fahrendholz

Notice was provided that a hearing would be held at 6:00 p.m., local time, at the Educational Service Center, 627 4th Street, Sioux City, Iowa, on the 26th day of March, 2018, to approve the plans, specifications, and estimated cost of $190,000.00 from FEH Design of Sioux City, Iowa, for the North High School Lunchroom Expansion Project.

 

Any interested party may appear and file objections and any information for or against same will be heard on the above-named project with the final decision of the Board of Education a matter of record.

RECOMMENDATION:  That the Board of Directors approves the plans, specifications, and estimated cost of $190,000.00 for the North High School Lunchroom Expansion Project. 

B.Resolution of Sale or Demolition of District Property for the New Hunt Elementary School Project – Brian Fahrendholz

Notice was provided that a hearing would be held at 6:00 p.m., local time, at the Educational Service Center, 627 4th Street, Sioux City, Iowa, on the 26th day of March, 2018, to receive public input on the sale of property owned by the District for removal or demolition.    

 

Any interested party may appear and file objections and any information for or against same will be heard on the above-named property with the final decision of the Board of Education a matter of record.

RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of Directors approves the sale of property owned by the District for removal or demolition located at 1903 Jackson Street, 1909 Jackson Street, 1915-1921 Jackson Street, 1920 Nebraska Street, and 608-610 20th Street, Sioux City Iowa.

RECOMMENDATION:  That the Board of Directors approves the above Board policies for first reading.

B.Hunt Elementary School Bid Package #1 - Site Improvements and Street Reconstruction Project – Brian Fahrendholz

RECOMMENDATION:  That the Board of Directors approves the proposed plans, specifications, and estimated cost of $1,400,000.00 for the Hunt Elementary School Bid Package #1 Site Improvements and Street Reconstruction Project, set a public hearing date, and publish notice as required by law. 

 

A public hearing will be held at 6:00 p.m., local time, at the Educational Service Center, 627 4th Street, Sioux City, Iowa, on the 9th day of April, 2018.  Plans and specifications may be reviewed in the Purchasing Manager’s office located at the same address.

C.Hunt Elementary School Bid Package #2 – Geothermal Well Field Project – Brian Fahrendholz

RECOMMENDATION:  That the Board of Directors approves the proposed plans, specifications, and estimated cost of $454,000 for the Hunt Elementary School Bid Package #2 Geothermal Well Field Project, set a public hearing date, and publish notice as required by law.

 

A public hearing will be held at 6:00 p.m., local time, at the Educational Service Center, 627 4th Street, Sioux City, Iowa, on the 9th day of April, 2018.  Plans and specifications may be reviewed in the Purchasing Manager’s office located at the same address.

D.Lease Agreement Between the Sioux City Community School District and First United Methodist Church for Parking at the New Hunt Elementary School – Brian Fahrendholz

RECOMMENDATION:  That the Board of Directors approves the Lease Agreement between the Sioux City Community School District and First United Methodist Church for parking at the new Hunt Elementary School for $1 for a 20-year term which can be renewed for up to 6 additional 20-year terms, set a public hearing date, and publish notice as required by law. 

 

A public hearing will be held at 6:00 p.m., local time, at the Educational Service Center, 627 4th Street, Sioux City, Iowa, on the 9th day of April, 2018.  The lease may be reviewed in the Purchasing Manager’s office located at the same address.

E.FY19 Annual Roof Repairs, Maintenance, and Replacement Projects – Brian Fahrendholz

RECOMMENDATION:  That the Board of Directors accepts the low bid for North High School and East Middle School, from Winkler Roofing, Inc. of Sioux City, Iowa, in the total bid amount of $123,625.00.

F.Benefit Plan Update – Dr. Rita Vannatta

RECOMMENDATION:  That the Board of Directors approves the recommendations from the insurance committee to be effective 7/1/2018.

G.$7,375,000 School Infrastructure Sales, Services and Use Tax Revenue Bonds, Series 2018A – Patty Blankenship
      • Resolution Appointing Paying Agent, Bond Registrar and Transfer Agent, Approving the Paying Agent, Bond Registrar and Transfer Agent Agreement, and Authorizing the Execution of Same.

      RECOMMENDATION:  That the Board of Directors adopts the resolutions and executes the documents.

      H.FY19 Budget Adjustment Resolution – Patty Blankenship

      RESOLVED, that the Board of Directors of the Sioux City Community School District, will levy property tax for fiscal year 2018-2019 for the regular program budget adjustment as allowed under section 257.14 of the Iowa Code.
