A.FY18 Proposed Budget Amendment – Patty Blankenship

Notice was provided that a hearing would be held at 6:00 p.m., local time, at the Educational Service Center, 627 4th Street, Sioux City, Iowa, on the 14th day of May, 2018, to approve the FY18 proposed budget amendment.

 

Any interested party may appear and file objections and any information for or against same will be heard on the above-named amendment with the final decision of the Board of Education a matter of record.

RECOMMENDATION:  That the Board of Directors approves the FY18 Proposed Budget Amendment.

B.Title VI Indian Education Grant – Jen Gomez

Notice was provided that a hearing would be held at 6:00 p.m., local time, at the Educational Service Center, 627 4th Street, Sioux City, Iowa, on the 14th day of May, 2018, to receive public input on the District’s Title VI Indian Education Grant Application.

 

Any interested party may appear and file objections and any information for or against same will be heard on the above-named grant application with the final decision of the Board of Education a matter of record.

RECOMMENDATION:  That the Board of Directors approves the District’s Title VI Indian Education Grant Application.

C.FY2018-19 School Fees and Meal Prices – Patty Blankenship

RECOMMENDATION:  That the Board of Directors approves the FY2018-19 school fees and meal prices.

D.Hunt Elementary School Bid Package #1 – Site Improvements and Street Reconstruction Project – Brian Fahrendholz

RECOMMENDATION:  That the Board of Directors accepts the low bid from SuBSurfco, LLC of South Sioux City, Nebraska, and awards the contract in the amount of $1,396,804.12 for the Hunt Elementary School BP #1 Site Improvements and Street Reconstruction Project.

E.Hunt Elementary School Bid Package #2 – Geothermal Well Field Project – Brian Fahrendholz

RECOMMENDATION:  That the Board of Directors accepts the low bid from Thorpe Water Development Co. of Ankeny, Iowa, and awards the contract in the amount of $326,191.00 for the Hunt Elementary School BP #2 Geothermal Well Field Project.

F.Acceptance of Tentative Agreement Between SCEA and the SCCSD – Dr. Rita Vannatta

RECOMMENDATION:  That the Board of Directors approves the recommendation by the administration to accept the three year agreement between the Sioux City Education Association (SCEA) and the Sioux City Community School District (SCCSD).

G.Acceptance of Tentative Agreement Between SCESPA and the SCCSD – Dr. Rita Vannatta

RECOMMENDATION:  That the Board of Directors approves the recommendation by the administration to accept the three year agreement between the Sioux City Educational Support Personnel Association (SCESPA) and the Sioux City Community School District (SCCSD).

H.Acceptance of Tentative Agreement Between Operations & Maintenance Employees and the SCCSD – Dr. Rita Vannatta

RECOMMENDATION:  That the Board of Directors approves the recommendation by the administration to accept the three year agreement between the Operations & Maintenance Employees International Union of Operating Engineers (IUOE) Local 234 and the Sioux City Community School District (SCCSD).

I.Acceptance of Tentative Agreement Between the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees AFL-CIO, Local 212 (AFSCME) Bus Drivers and the SCCSD - Dr. Rita Vannatta

RECOMMENDATION:  That the Board of Directors approves the recommendation by the administration to accept the three year agreement between the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees AFL-CIO, Local 212 (AFSCME) Bus Drivers Association and the Sioux City Community School District (SCCSD).

J.First Reading of the Employee Handbook – Dr. Rita Vannatta

RECOMMENDATION:  That the Board of Directors approves the Employee Handbook for the District for the 2018-2019 School Year for first reading.
