Notice was provided that a hearing would be held at 6:00 p.m., local time, at the Educational Service Center, 627 4th Street, Sioux City, Iowa, on the 25th day of March, 2019, to approve the plans, specifications, and estimated cost of $305,000.00 for the East High School Parking Lot Expansion Project.

 

Any interested party may appear and file objections and any information for or against same will be heard on the above-named project with the final decision of the Board of Education a matter of record.

RECOMMENDATION:  That the Board of Directors approves the plans, specifications, and estimated cost of $305,000.00 for the East High School Parking Lot Expansion Project.

B.Perpetual Underground Electrical Easement with MidAmerican Energy Company - Bryant Elementary School - Brian Fahrendholz

Notice was provided that a hearing would be held at 6:00 p.m., local time, at the Educational Service Center, 627 4th Street, Sioux City, Iowa, on the 25th day of March, 2019, to approve a perpetual underground electrical easement with MidAmerican Energy Company for $1.00 at Bryant Elementary School for construction, operation, and maintenance of an underground electrical service for the new Bryant Elementary School.

 

Any interested party may appear and file objections and any information for or against same will be heard on the above-named easement with the final decision of the Board of Education a matter of record.

RECOMMENDATION:  That the Board of Directors approves a perpetual underground electrical easement with MidAmerican Energy Company for $1.00 at Bryant Elementary School for construction, operation, and maintenance of an underground electrical service for the new Bryant Elementary School.

Notice was provided that a hearing would be held at 6:00 p.m., local time, at the Educational Service Center, 627 4th Street, Sioux City, Iowa, on the 25th day of March, 2019, to approve a perpetual underground electrical easement with MidAmerican Energy Company for $1.00 at Nodland Elementary School for construction, operation, and maintenance of an underground electrical service for the new Nodland Elementary School.

 

Any interested party may appear and file objections and any information for or against same will be heard on the above-named easement with the final decision of the Board of Education a matter of record.

RECOMMENDATION:  That the Board of Directors approves a perpetual underground electrical easement with MidAmerican Energy Company for $1.00 at Nodland Elementary School for construction, operation, and maintenance of an underground electrical service for the new Nodland Elementary School.

RECOMMENDATION:  That the Board of Directors approves the above Board policies for first reading. 

B.Acceptance of Tentative Agreement Between SCEA and the SCCSD – Dr. Rita Vannatta

RECOMMENDATION:  That the Board of Directors approves the recommendation by the administration to accept the tentative agreement between the Sioux City Education Association (SCEA) and the Sioux City Community School District (SCCSD).

C.FY20 Annual Roof Repairs, Maintenance, and Replacement Projects - Brian Fahrendholz

RECOMMENDATION:  That the Board of Directors accepts the low bid for East Middle School Phase 2, from MJ Dalsin of Sioux Falls, SD, in the amount of $128,151.00 and for Riverside Elementary School Phase 2, from Winkler Roofing of Sioux City, IA, in the amount of $109,850.00.

D.Hunt Elementary School BP #3 – Site Improvements, Street Reconstruction, and Demolition - Brian Fahrendholz

RECOMMENDATION:  That the Board of Directors accepts the low bid from Sioux City Engineering of Sioux City, Iowa, and awards the contract in the amount of $2,220,020.10 for the Hunt Elementary School BP #3 – Site Improvements, Street Reconstruction, and Demolition. 

E.FY20 Budget Adjustment Resolution – Patty Blankenship

RESOLVED, that the Board of Directors of the Sioux City Community School District, will levy property tax for fiscal year 2019-2020 for the regular program budget adjustment as allowed under section 257.14 of the Iowa Code.
