NOTICE: Due to the pandemic, restrictions continue to be in place for in-person attendance at Board meetings. Such restrictions are intended to substantially comply with current public health guidance. Anyone who has symptoms of COVID-19 or household members with those symptoms should not attend in person. Those in attendance are expected to comply with posted restrictions including those concerning physical distancing and wearing a face mask/shield.

Public Comment Forms may be accessed on line at  https://www.siouxcityschools.org/policies/community-participation-public-comment-procedures/  (204.15-E Form - on line submission). Individuals participating remotely must submit their form electronically by 4:00 p.m. on the day of the meeting. Individuals attending in person must give their completed form to the Board Secretary prior to the start of the meeting.

If a person participating remotely wished to be heard during the meeting, a phone number must be provided on the form so the speaker can be called at the appropriate time.

A.FY22 Annual Roof Repairs, Maintenance, and Replacement Projects – Tim Paul

RECOMMENDATION:  That the Board of Directors accepts the low combined bid for East Middle School and the Operations and Maintenance building from Winkler Roofing Inc. of Sioux City, Iowa, and awards the contract in the amount of $202,000.00 for the FY22 Annual Roof Repairs, Maintenance, and Replacement Projects. 


B.FY22 Budget Adjustment Resolution - Patty Blankenship

RECOMMENDATION:  RESOLVED, that the Board of Directors of the Sioux City Community School District, will levy property tax for fiscal year 2021-2022 for the regular program budget adjustment as allowed under section 257.14 of the Iowa Code.

C.First Reading of Employee Handbook – Dr. Rita Vannatta

RECOMMENDATION:  That the Board of Directors approves the first reading of the Employee Handbook for the District for the 2021-2022 School Year.

D.First Reading of Board Policies – Dr. Paul Gausman

RECOMMENDATION:  That the Board of Directors approves the above Board policies for first reading.

E.FY22 Budget - Review of All Funds – President Alarcon-Flory

RECOMMENDATION:  That the Board of Directors discusses the budget prior to hearing and adoption on April 12, 2021.
