NOTICE: Due to the pandemic, restrictions continue to be in place for in-person attendance at Board meetings. Such restrictions are intended to substantially comply with current public health guidance. Anyone who has symptoms of COVID-19 or household members with those symptoms should not attend in person. Those in attendance are expected to comply with posted restrictions including those concerning physical distancing and wearing a face mask/shield.

Public Comment Forms may be accessed on line at the Sign Up Form for Public Comment Web Page  (204.15-E Form-on line submission). Individuals participating remotely must submit their form electronically by 4:00 p.m. on the day of the meeting. Individuals attending in person must give their completed form to the Board Secretary prior to the start of the meeting.

If a person participating remotely wishes to be heard during the meeting, a phone number must be provided on the form so the speaker can be called at the appropriate time.

A.MidAmerican Energy Company Underground Electric Easement at North High School – Tim Paul

Notice was provided that a hearing would be held on June 28, 2021, 6:00 p.m., local time, at the Educational Service Center, 627 4th Street, Sioux City, Iowa, to receive public input on the MidAmerican Energy Company Underground Electric Easement at North High School.

 

Any interested party may appear and file objections and any information for or against same will be heard on the above-named easement with the final decision of the Board of Education a matter of record.

RECOMMENDATION:  That the Board of Directors approves the MidAmerican Energy Company Underground Electric Easement at North High School.

A.Woodbury County Jail Infrastructure Project - Easements – Tim Paul

RECOMMENDATION:  That the Board of Directors sets a public hearing for a temporary and permanent easement with the City of Sioux City for installation of a sanitary sewer line for the Woodbury County Jail Infrastructure Project – Easements at no charge.

 

A public hearing will be held at 6:00 p.m., local time, at the Educational Service Center, 627 4th Street, Sioux City, Iowa, on the 12th day of July 2021.  Plans and specifications may be reviewed at the Purchasing Manager’s office located at the same address.

B.Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief III Guiding Principles – Dr. Kim Buryanek

RECOMMENDATION:  That the Board of Directors acknowledges ranking of ESSER III Guiding Principles for principles 1-22 and principles 1-9.

C.Live Event Camera Systems for High School Athletic Fields FY22 – Jim Vanderloo

RECOMMENDATION:  That the Board of Directors accepts the quotes from Musco Lighting LLC of Oskaloosa, IA., for $57,750.00, Hudl Co. of Lincoln, NE., for 99,598.00, Fibercomm of Sioux City, IA., for $50,898.24, and Fibercomm of Sioux City, IA., for $15,000 for a total of $223,246.24.

D.2021-22 Legislative Action Priorities – President Alarcon-Flory

RECOMMENDATION:  That the Board of Directors discusses their 2021-22 Legislative Action Priorities.
